Create your own Instagram Links Page in Squarespace

For a lot of businesses, the current places you are most likely to be found is through social media, what with so many people using Instagram or other social platforms these days to find people and services instead of searching on Google.

Because of this growing trend, you want to make sure your Instagram is set up perfectly to lead visitors and potential clients over to the right areas as quickly and easily as possible.

Share this on Pinterest or save to your inspo board!

Ever landed on someone’s Instagram profile, clicked on their bio link and been amazed at how organised and easy to follow the page is? With a list of buttons showing all the pages you need to find and all the information you wanted?

Sure, you can use cool link-in-bio tools like Linktr.ee, BUT this just creates an extra barrier for people to reach your website, plus these tools can be glitchy and you risk losing all that juicy website traffic that influences your Google ranking!

Why would you lure your followers (aka potential clients) to someone else’s website, when you can lead them directly to your own website instead?

I can help you set up a smart insta links page for your own Squarespace website - read on:

How to create your own Instagram Links Page in Squarespace

  1. Create a new page by going to your Squarespace dashboard, click Pages > scroll down to the Not Linked section (so it’s not visible on any website menu) > click Add New and call it ‘Instagram” (or something similar like “Links”, “Welcome” or “Socials”)

  2. To start creating your links on the page, click on the ‘+’ to add a new block.

  3. Search for the ‘Button’ block.

  4. Once you’ve added your button, type in the text you’d like it to show, usually the name of the website page you’re linking to.

  5. Either search for the page by typing “/” or paste in an external URL you want to link to.

  6. You’ll see options to change the styling of your button. You can change the background colour, corners and borders to match your existing branding.

  7. Once you have all the buttons you need, change up the text and URLs for all of them so you have all the pages you want. Around 4-5 is the perfect number!

  8. To make it even more engaging, add a photo of you and a little intro to remind people who you are, what you do and who for.

  9. You now have your own links page to add to your Instagram bio! Copy the URL link and paste it into your Insta profile and you’re ready to go.

Here’s an example - you don’t need as many buttons or have titles that long but I like to tell people why they should click!

Optional extras:

  • If you’re familiar with CSS code, you could choose to remove your logo and top navigation (like I have) to avoid people getting distracted with other links. You can also change the design of your buttons to full width, or add a shadow effect, etc.

  • You could add an image of you and a little intro to expand a little on who you are and how you can help.

All my Squarespace Website Templates include a custom Instagram Bio Links page AND a Custom 404 Error Page (more on that here) to ensure your followers head straight to your website and can’t resist booking your services.
